Celebrating our First 50 Years of Service to the Gawler Community
Gawler Community Retirement Homes – Covid – 19 Update
We advise that during the current crisis, the Administration Office remains open, but access will be strictly controlled. Where possible please ring the office for any enquiries on 8523 4255, rather than attending the office.
If you are interested to find about our vacancies, we can firstly provide information by phone or email. Viewings will be arranged where possible under appropriate protocols.
Maintenance staff are providing necessary support for items of need. Residents should contact the office to record maintenance requests during office hours; they will be assessed on a needs basis. Non-essential requests will be recorded and logged to be completed later on.
It is important to understand that we are still providing support to our residents; however we are also trying to minimise any risk to the residents or our staff
50th Anniversary Book
17th December 2019
The Anniversary Function, Gawler Community Retirement Homes (GCRH) was able to finalise its 50th Anniversary Book and launched it in December 2019. Former long-time Board Member, Humphrey George was on hand to officially release it. He was a strong supporter of the book and the need to document some of the history.
GCRH thanks Stan Roulston (a GCRH resident) for his efforts in compiling the book. He put in a lot of hours to ensure it all came together. The design of the book was done by David Ward, son of GCRH residents John & Judy Ward; he has produced a quality book. Thanks also, to Teresa Lane from Property Lane Images for new photos included.
Retirement of Bruce Eastick
17th December 2019
It is rare that anybody would provide 50 years of voluntary work for a community organisation. So it has been for Bruce Eastick, with Gawler Community Retirement Homes (GCRH). Through the 50 years of the organisation, Bruce was a much-respected Chairman for all but two of those years. Stepping down in 2017, while remaining on the Board.
Bruce spoke at the organisations recent Anniversary Function and reminisced on the early days, that lead to the formation of what would become Gawler & District Aged Cottage Homes and now Gawler Community Retirement Homes.
